H.E. The Ambassador Yaqoub Yousef Alateeqi met with H E The Defence Minister of Republic of Maldives Mr. Mohamed Nazim on Thursday 19/7/2012 at the Embassy premises in Colombo. H E The Maldivian Minister was accompanied by Deputy Ambassador of Republic of Maldives Mr. Hussain Niyaz and Defense Advisor Colonel Mohamed Mukhtar and General Zakariya Mansoor.
During this meeting HE The Ambassador discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the ways of supporting and promoting Kuwait- Maldives relationship in all fields, especially in defence field. H E The Ambassador expressed his willingness of the State of Kuwait to provide further assistance to Maldives in training ,exchanging experiences and in official matters as well as defense cooperation.
H E The Maldivian Minister praised the support provide by the Kuwait Government to Maldives, especially in the field of defence. He also explained the present security situation in Maldives.
