The Embassy opened its condolence books on Sunday, December 17, extending through Tuesday, December 19, in honor of the Late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jabir Al Sabah. During this period, Charge De Affairs ad interim Mr. Othman M.A.S. Alomar and Diplomatic Attache of Administrative Affairs Mr. Hamad Th. N.M.R. Alajmi graciously received dignitaries from various sectors.
Representatives from the government of Sri Lanka, Civil Society organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, and heads of Diplomatic missions in Colombo were among those who paid their respects. Notable figures, including Foreign Minister Mr. Ali Sabri, Former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena, as well as Former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, alongside several Parliament Members from both ruling and opposition parties, attended.
Their presence and heartfelt condolences served as a poignant tribute to the late Amir, symbolizing the profound respect and solidarity shared between nations during this period of mourning.
