The Embassy opened its condolence books on Sunday, December 17, extending through Tuesday, December 19, in honor of the Late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jabir Al Sabah. During this period, Charge De Affairs ad interim Mr. Othman M.A.S. Alomar and Diplomatic Attache of Administrative Affairs Mr. Hamad Th. N.M.R. Alajmi graciously received dignitaries from various sectors.

Representatives from the government of Sri Lanka, Civil Society organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, and heads of Diplomatic missions in Colombo were among those who paid their respects. Notable figures, including Foreign Minister Mr. Ali Sabri, Former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena, as well as Former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, alongside several Parliament Members from both ruling and opposition parties, attended.

Their presence and heartfelt condolences served as a poignant tribute to the late Amir, symbolizing the profound respect and solidarity shared between nations during this period of mourning.

The Sri Lanka Foreign Service Association, in collaboration with Colombo-based diplomatic missions, organized an ‘International Bazaar’ on the 2nd of December 2023 in Colombo. The primary objective of this event was to raise funds for the neurosurgical project at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital.

We are delighted to state that the Embassy of Kuwait actively participated in the International Bazaar. Under the esteemed patronage of H.E. The Ambassador, our embassy showcased a variety of Kuwaiti food items.

We believe that the funds raised will contribute significantly to the success of the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital neurosurgical project. Together, we are making a positive impact on the lives of children in need.

His Excellency, Ambassador Khalaf Bu Dhahir, took part in the event hosted at BMICH Colombo, organized by the Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine on November 29, 2023, to commemorate the United Nations Day for Solidarity with Palestine.

His Excellency Khalaf M.M. Bu Dhhair – Ambassador of the State of Kuwait actively participated in the National Day Reception of the Sultanate of Oman held at Shangri La Hotel on 20th November, 2023.

During this significant occasion, H.E. The Ambassador extended heartfelt congratulations to the leadership, government, and citizens of the Sultanate of Oman. He conveyed his best wishes for the continuous advancement, prosperity, and enduring peace and stability of Oman.

His Excellency Ambassador Khalaf M M Bu Dhhair represented His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, at the inauguration ceremony of President Mohamed Muizzu as the President of the Republic of Maldives.

During this significant event, Ambassador Khalaf M M Bu Dhhair conveyed warm congratulations and heartfelt greetings from His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to President Mohamed Muizzu. He also extended His Highness’s best wishes to the government and the fraternal people of the Maldives for continued growth, progress, and prosperity.
