The Ceremony was attended by the gathering of HE Maithripala Sirisena , Presidnt of Republic of Sri Lanka , Senior Officials of Maldivian Government and members of foreign diplomatic corps.
The President of Maldives Mr. Abdullah Yameen presided the ceremony.H E The Ambassador met the Maldivian President and discussed the various matters . He also met a number of officials and ambassadors.
The Maldives gained independence from the British colonial rule on 26/07/1965. It remained under British colonialism since 1887.
