Foundation Stone Ceremony
The foundation stone was laid by His Excellency Yaqoub Yousef Al Ateeqi The Ambassador for the Primary Government School is located at Kannatota . A large gathering participated in this Ceremony .
Opening ceremony of the mosque Mohsen Al-Otaibi
Mr.Muhsin Al Otaibi opened the Otaibi Mosque which he established by his own funds.During the Ceremony in Ruwanwella City on Saturday 17/5/2014. H.E. .Yaqoub Yousef Al Ateeqi The Ambassador Mr. Saad Abdullah Al anssari , Head of the Consular Section the Embassy and Senior Government Officials such as Senior Minister of Technology Hon. Professor Tissa Witharana , Deputy Minister of Agriculture Hon. Mr.Y Padmasiri , Chairman of the Ruwanwella Municipal Council as well a number of Clerics Buddhist Christian and Muslimsand a large number of citizens and residents took part in the event.
H.E. .Yaqoub Yousef Al Ateeqi The Ambassador said in his speech that the assistance of the State of Kuwait is not limited to certain communities in Sri Lanka and that the State of Kuwait is always pleased to help Sri Lankan Citizens.
Mr.Muhsin Al Otaibi pointed out in his speech the significant role of Mosque in the Muslim Community.
حفل إفتتاح مسجد محسن العتيبي
بفضل الله تعالى تم يوم السبت 17/5/2014 افتتاح مسجد محسن العتيبي بمدينة روانوالا على بعد 80 كيلو مترا عن العاصمة كولومبو . وقد أسس المسجد على نفقة السيد/ محسن العتيبي
وشارك في حفل الإفتتاح سعادة السفير / يعقوب يوسف العتيقي والسيد/ محسن العتيبي والسيد/ سعد عبد الله الأنصاري رئيس القسم القنصلي بالسفارة ووزير التكنولوجيا البروفيسور / تسا ويتارانا ونائب وزير الزراعة السيد/ بادماسير ي ورئيس البلدية في منطقة روانوالا وكذلك شارك فيها عدد من رجال الدين البوذي والمسيحي والإسلامي .
ثم القى مسئول المسجد كلمة بالمناسبة شكر فيها كل الذين ساهموا في بناء هذه المعلمة الاسلامية سائلا الله سبحانه وتعالى ان يجعل هذا العمل في ميزان حسناتهم كما رحب بالحضور الكريم
وألقى سعادة السفير / يعقوب يوسف العتيقي كلمة في الحفل وقال فيها إن إن جهود حكومة دولة الكويت المباركة لم تقتصر على الداخل فقط بل إمتدت أياديها البيضاء إلى خارجها كما شدد سعادة السفير على ضرورة تقديم مزيد من المساعدات للشعب السريلانكي في سريلانكا.
وألقى السيد / محسن العتيبي كلمة في الحفل بَيَّنَ فيها مكانة المسجد ودوره في المجتمع الإنساني. وكان يؤكد على أهمية عمارة المسجد بالعبادات من الصلوات الخمس وغيرها.

H.E .YaqoubYousef Al Ateeqi The Ambassador opened the “Yaqoub Yousef Al Ateeqi and Hanna Al Waqayan” mosque in Kannatota on 17/5/2014 . It was built by his personal funds. The Ambassador delivered a speech on this occasion. Participants of this ceremony were Mr. Muhsin Al Otaibi, Mr. Saad Abdullah Al ansari , Head of the Consular Section at the Embassy and members of the community.
