HE The Ambassador Yaqoub Yousef Al Ateeqi held a friendly discussion with the Deputy Minister of External Affairs Mr. Neomal Perera at the Embassy premises. During this meeting, both parties discussed various issues especially the situation of the Sri Lankans working in Kuwait.
HE The Ambassador praised the efforts of Sri Lankan workers in Kuwait; More than 120,000 Sri Lakan works are working in Kuwait.
In the meantime The Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude to the Kuwait Government for its effort to resolve the problems of Sri Lankan workers. He also expressed the Government’s willingness get more employment opportunities from Kuwait,
Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State of Kuwait on employment migration at 10/5/2012.
