HE The Ambassador Yaqoub Yousef Alateeqi met with the Chairman Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment Mr. Amal Senalankadeera on 13/6/2012 at the Embassy premises. During the meeting both parties discussed bilaterial relations in all aspects between the two countries, especially in the field of work forces.
HE The Ambassador praised the role of Sri Lankan workers in Kuwait. The number of Sri Lankan workers in Kuwait is almost 130 thousand workers. HE discussed several matters related to ensuring the rights of Kuwait Citizens towards the workers.
The State of Kuwait signed the MOU with Sri Lankan Government on 12/05/2012 to protect the rights of Sri Lankan migrant workers employed in Kuwait to ensure their welfare.
