HE The Ambassador Yaqoub Yousef Alateeqi made a field visit to the number of development projects in Hambantota South Sri Lanka during the period 5-6/10/2011 .It includes several government projects such as Hambantota Port,Hambantota International Air port and International Cricket Stadium.

Minister of External Affairs Professor G L Peiris discussed in detail contemporary events in Sri Lanka at a bilateral meeting in Kuwait City on 10/10/2011 with Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.

HE The Ambassador attended the Convocation Ceremony of Jamiah Siddeqiyas Students which was held in Kattankudi , 320 Km away from the capitol Colombo. 73 Female Graduates passed out this year including seven Female Quran Memmorators.

HE The Ambassador Yaqoub Yousef Alateeqi hosted a Ramzan Kuwait Ifthar on Wednesday 10/08/2011 at Cinnmon Lake Side Hotel.Colombo. Many Sri Lankan Ministers ,officials ,diplomatic Corps ,Jounalists and representatives of political ,economic and religious organizations attended this function.

HE The Ambassador participated in the forty forth Independence celebrations in the Republic of Maldives. The Maldives gained independence from the British Colonial Rule on 26/7/1965.

H.E. The Ambassador Yaqoub Yousef Alateeqi hosted a luncheon on Sunday 26/6/2011 at his residence in honour of the visiting Egyptian Delegation headed by the Justice Minister of Egypt Mr. Mohamed Abdul Aziz Ibrahim Al Jundi.
